Meet The Artist
My name is April McCoy. I am a mother, wife and artist. My love of painting started at the darkest time of my life. I was a single mom who couldn’t afford what my children wanted so I decided to make it for them. Painting slowly became the peace to my everyday! I now paint full time and enjoy sharing the gift God gave me with everyone I can!

Hello my name is Stephen Saupitty. I’m so excited to be invited back to Cache for Summer in the Streets. Looking forward to this mural I’ll be doing. With Floral and fauna I took a literal approach because in my mind that always makes me think of buffaloes and of the Indian paint brush. Buffaloes are bud strong powerful and majestic just a perfect subject. The Indian paint brush is a beautiful flower that is vibrant wild and free you will always see them from any vantage point. I’m mixing them some mandala and a color palate that ranges from black and white all the way to neon's. I really hope you enjoy it and something you will be proud of in the future.
“I’ve learnt from experience that a painting isn’t finished when you put down your brush – that’s when it starts. The public reaction is what supplies meaning and value. Art comes alive.”
“Don’t lean against the wall…it’s wet”

Meet The Artist
Hi! I’m Rachel Elizalde!
I am an artist and owner of Artistic Elements Art & Photography! I’m a lover of God, the ocean, and believe in spreading light and love to all that I come in contact with.
I’ve recently moved back to Lawton after 20 years of adventures around the U.S.
As a child, growing up in foster homes, I dreamed of being a painter, hoping one day I could create my own happiness. I love speaking through my art and living free. The beauty of the unknown is what keeps me reaching for what’s ahead. Life is short. Tomorrow is a maybe. Take the opportunity to be kind to one another , give , paint on walls, and always make it count!

Meet The Artist!
My name is Leisa James; proud wife and busy momma of 3. I’m very excited to come back and put my heart on another building in Cache this summer. Last year, I painted for my daughter, Piper, and for everyone else out there moving mountains.
With the competition having a floral and fauna theme this year, I went the floral direction. To stay on theme and still spread an inspiring message, this mural will be a splash of color and positivity. We all have our “things,” right? These can be big things, small things, tough, crazy, scary, amazing, phenomenal…and it is so important to grow through it all. We’ve all got to grow through what we go through.
I can’t wait to see you all downtown in a few weeks!. #southwestoklahoma #muralcompetition #chamberofcommerce #summerinthestreets2023 #ComeThriveWithUs #cacheokla #streetfair #localartist

Jessica Parks
I moved from south Georgia to Cache in 2019. I have 3 children and a beautiful granddaughter named Hadley. I have always dabbled in a variety of arts and crafts but never had any formal training. One day about 5 years ago I was at the craft store and saw paints and canvases and I thought I'd like to give it a try. I never imagined that it would lead to me painting 5 murals across South Georgia. I'm really excited to add Cache to the list. My goal is to start a program that uses art to helps individuals heal from traumas, promotes compassion and to build communities stronger.

My name is Savy Weston! I am graduating in May 2023 from Oklahoma State with a degree in graphic design and a marketing minor. I have always loved being creative, and I truly believe that art has a vital role in shaping a community's identity, values, and wellbeing.
This year, I designed the content of my mural to reflect the given theme (Flora and Fauna of the Wichita Mountains), as well as what I admire about Cache as a community. I incorporated various plant and animal species of the Wichita Mountains in the design, combining that with imagery associated with the art of quilting. To many, quilts symbolize home and community, through their role as common household objects and pieces that many hands have a role in making and using. In many homes, quilts are passed from generation to generation, symbolizing the intergenerational love and connection that I see in small communities like Cache. Through the use of quilting imagery, I wanted this mural to be a tribute to the work of locals who volunteer their time and energy for events like Summer in the Streets, helping to knit together a connected community through their civic and creative work. Ultimately, I would like viewers of the mural to be reminded of passionate community contributors, as well as the beauty of the natural landscape around them. Together, the amazing people and the beautiful landscape create the community known as Cache, Oklahoma.
Thank you to the community of Cache for welcoming me back for a second year! You can follow my art on Instagram at savyscribbles.
